PHASE ONE ~
Phase One for this whole home renovation is the completion of a large barn on the property. Formerly an empty shell with a dirt floor, this charming red barn is nearly completed. This family intends to live in the barn while we renovate the main house, so the barn really needed some creature comforts not found in your typical barn First we trenched lines out to the barn so the homeowners could have electricity and running water in their temporary living space. We installed a secondary septic tank to accommodate plumbing the barn. We poured a concrete floor, additionally fortifying areas for future installation of a car lift. We framed in, insulated and sheet-rocked the exterior barn walls, built a staircase and loft which gives ample storage, added a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo and an electric water heater, installed a commercial sink for their kitchen needs during construction and installed a nice roll-up door with a tight seal to keep bugs and vermin out! To make it extra cozy, we installed a vintage wood burning stove to warm up this charming red barn! We poured a large concrete pad in front of the door into the barn and built a nice cover over the door. It’ll be a great area for this family to BBQ while they do barn-life. To finish the exterior, we built a deep, tall and wide lean-to on the side of the barn for RV parking with a 50 amp and a sewer hook-up.
